Clean+istry has decided to expand its mission in covering all that is clean to include that which is practical, especially when ‘the practical’ is so well designed. Laminate is the source material from which many of our childhood nightmares come. The Mash Studios LAX Dining Table, however, constructed of English walnut topped by a white [...]

We’ve been looking at many hoods the last couple of days, but this hood from the Zephr Arc collection was the only one that grabs the eye, refusing to let it go.
A combination of steel and wood (poplar wood finished in either charcoal or dark wenge), it plays contemporary but with warmth–a perfect complement to [...]

Kristan Cunningham’s practical kitchen cabinet design caught our eye. A host for HGTV’s “Design on a Dime”, she and her boyfriend, Scott Jarrell, set out to spruce up a Venice rental on the “modest”.
Among the many touches, Cunningham painted the lower cabinets in the kitchen charcoal and the cupboards a cream white. While pleasing to [...]

Whether it’s a weekday dinner or a special event for 8, Clean+istry attempts to save cleaning time by minimizing the number of serving trays or bowls. Sagaform oven-to-table serving bowls do exactly what they say with a minimum of mess and maximum style. Form meets function. We like it when that happens.

At a very tender age Clean+istry was taught to rinse the dishes (more or less cleaning them) before placing them into the automatic dishwasher. Well that was wrong.
Dishwashing detergents are engineered to aggressively attack food and when they’ve nothing to clean they go after the finishes of glasses and dishes, making them cloudy and sometimes [...]

Rebel Green is a green, clean line of products with attitude and a governing philosophy that good design and care for the environment can go hand in hand. <applaud HERE>
Clean+istry is a sucker for a good mission statement. Here’s Rebel Green’s:
A little revolution every now and then is a good thing. How we live, what [...]

PermaFLOW–answer to prayers? Or a plumber’s worst nightmare? Like so much in life, it depends on your perspective.
A Platinum winner at the 2009 Awards for Design Excellence, sponsored by Design Journal, PermaFLOW is one of those ‘why it take so long to figure this one out’ products. First, the pipe is transparent, allowing you to [...]

Is it just us or has Swine Flu got you thinking about all the things you’d rather not touch? For instance, to avoid turning on a kitchen faucet with dirty hands, requiring us to clean the handle later on, would be nice. And there’s nothing more unsanitary than touching a bathroom faucet after, well, you [...]

Nothing telegraphs having ‘gone the extra mile’ more so than a dry and buffed kitchen sink, especially for that ‘the housekeeper left just moments before’ look.
We must confess that our sink is not dry and buffed following each and every use (that would require madness on a level beyond even our scope), but effort is [...]
